Take a look at our web site for news on the Cordon d' Or - Gold Ribbon International Culinary Academy Awards Presentations & Reception. Join your fellow Culinarians and Foodies on  Saturday 16 May, 2009 at the Don CeSar on St. Pete Beach, Florida, from 4 - 7 PM.  Mix & Mingle with International, National & Local Culinary Stars at the historic 'Pink Palace'. Thirty Culinary Academy Award Winners plan to attend. Enjoy the fun and excellent food and see a glorious sunset. The party may carry on through into the late evening for those who have the energy to team up later for dinner. Or, you can try out the traditional Ice Cream Parlor where you will find an extensive choice of delicious flavors. You may even meet the Don's resident ghost along the way!

The tickets are $37 per person, and you can pay by credit card or check. Print out your receipt as confirmation of your purchase and present it at the Check in table on arrival at the event.   Parking is at a premium as the hotel is fully booked for the weekend. However, Valet parking at $18 is available to all guests attending the Culinary Academy Awards. Allow plenty of time to get there (at least an hour is recommended for those traveling locally). Being a Saturday afternoon, Beach lovers will be out in force heading for the Gulf, and other activities are also taking place at the Don CeSar.

Florida - America's Culinary Paradise 


The new Florida Program was announced at the  Culinary Academy Awards Gala evening in 2009, and is under way. Six Award Winners from across the State of Florida were selected to receive Culinary Academy Awards on Saturday 16 May at the Don Ce Sar.  You can meet and greet them when you join us. The web site  is in its early stages to establish the future Culinary Capital of the USA. The potential is incredible as culinary folk and businesses come out of the woodwork throughout the State. Did you know, for example that there are fifty Wineries in Florida, and seventeen are registered with the State. Viewers will get an indication on what is happening in Florida through the Culinary Trails  now appearing on our Florida maps, where participants can receive a 'live' diamond. Click on the diamond and it highlights a culinary group or Culinarian. Click on the name, and it will take you to their web site. You will see ideas on future plans, including the international Culinary Walk of Fame, which will be established in Florida, and plans are currently in the pipeline.  Florida as you already know, is not only an established tourist Mecca, it is also a Culinary Paradise waiting to be tapped and taken to greater heights. Culinary Tourism is the future everywhere, and especially in the State of Florida.

Beneficiary: The FRLA - Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association,  a part of the NRA - National Restaurant Association, is on board. They plan to have some of their culinary students attend the Culinary Academy Awards. Cordon d' Or - Gold Ribbon, a non profit organization has agreed that any proceeds from this year, will be donated to the FRLA Pro Start Culinary Students Program, the non profit arm of the FRLA here in Florida. 


We plan a very enjoyable afternoon into evening for one and all. Our Master of Ceremonies Tim Wilkins, national TV Host and Comedian is on board. Tim was very popular at the Culinary Academy Awards Gala Dinner last year, and I know you will enjoy him and have lots of fun. This year he will be joined on stage by his fiancee Michelle Phillips, who co hosted the CBS TV Tampa Bay Morning Show with Tim.
